About

Dirty Popsicle - the name.

What kind of name is that?
It comes from a crazy childhood memory. We’ll paint the picture.
Parents are having a cocktail party with several couples included. These parents have one child, a girl about 4 years old at the time. She came out after a wardrobe change into jammies: a front zip onesie with feet.
Her father a tough, funny detective with a mouth full of colorful words, and he had a pack of friends just like him.
One of them centered the little girl in the middle of the room and said
“Your daddy is a no good bum!”
She said “My daddy’s not a bum”.
Again he came for her and goading her again he said  “He’s a bum.”
She said "No he's not and you’re a c**ksucker!”
Half the room laughed. (men)
Half the room gasped. (women)
Her father snorting with laughter. Her mother not so much.
After having her mouth washed out with the little dark blue sea shell soaps from the gold mermaid dish in the bathroom, she was put to bed.

Next morning at breakfast, her mother can’t leave it alone and says
“WHY would you ever say such a dirty word?”
The little girl replies “Daddy says it all the time.” To defend his loose lips, her father avoiding the blaming stare from his wife looks directly at the little girl and said “I don’t say that word, I say Dirty Popsicle.”
There it is. And they think the matter is over. Hardly. That afternoon the little girl runs her trike into the oven door and falls off.

As she hits the ground she says “C**ksucker!”  Her mother yeels her name.
The little girl replies “Dirty Popsicle.”

Just words.

We are not easily offended by swear words.

In our book there’s offensive language and swear words. We like swear words.
Actually, we love swear words.
Well, there’s one that makes us cringe and we will always avoid it.
It was one of George Carlins 7 Words you can’t say on TV and Sex and the City made it famous with it's "See you next Tuesday."  However recently we've seen it used with an "ie" after it.  Worth considering.

We like to think of swear words as colorful adjectives tied to your current emotional state. Words used to create interest, add to the story.
Ted Lasso’s Roy Kent had one word and stretched out, said it all.
Hot headed emotion with one word. Dissatisfaction with one word.
And thinking about it still makes us smile.
We get it. Some people are offended by swear words.
If you are, we’re not your cup of tea. It’s ok.

Offensive language? That is a whole different animal. Lanquage that has to do with race, religion, disability, gender, or ethnicity, none of that is funny. It’s hurtful.

We believe laughter is the best medicine.

We don’t care if it’s giggling, chuckling, snorting or just all out laughing we think it’s healthy and good for the soul to laugh. We think it’s pure joy to find amusement in our day to day lives and in our case, creating and finding products to make our customers smile, make them think of someone, or evoke a funny memory.

Come laugh with us.
